			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So you&#8217;re overweight, &#8220;fat&#8221;&#8211;to be honest&#8211;and you want to start exercising. Before you take off like an overlarge airplane and start preparing for the Olympics trials, stop right there.</p>
<p><img src="http://savvyhealthfitness.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/barsik050800054.jpg" alt="beachside jog" title="beachside jog" width="168" height="113" class="alignright size-full wp-image-1239" />You may have it all figured out by now, after checking with your friends, the media and finally that fickle fiend known as the bathroom mirror, that a regular exercise program is the only way to fly when it comes to permanent weight loss. That entails working out or otherwise flexing your physical and psychological muscles on a regular basis, perhaps three times a week, or maybe even once per day.</p>
<p>But therein lies the rub. How do you get started? How often do you exercise? Most importantly, if you&#8217;ve been very sedate or at least somewhat off your feet for awhile, what&#8217;s the safest way to begin an effective, weight-loss centered exercise program?</p>
<p><strong></p>
<p>Beginning a Righteous Program &#8211; Realistically</strong><br />
First of all, follow the old saw about consulting with your doctor. Don&#8217;t start thinking you can just begin running around the block. That&#8217;s why the medical profession exists, to advise and keep you safe. Your doctor will recommend specific types of exercise tailored to fit your own individual lifestyle, personal health needs and concerns. But you don&#8217;t need to make it entirely clinical when you begin an exercise program.</p>
<p><span id="more-1229"></span></p>
<p>Most importantly, you need to pick something you&#8217;re going to stick with. What do you like in the way of sports? If you&#8217;re people-oriented, you should look into joining a team sports program of some kind in your area, one created for adult participation. You can look for a local softball league, take a beginning aerobics class at a fitness center, or play regular games of basketball at a gym with your buddies. And then there&#8217;s golf, the perennial favorite of people who want to perform fun and interesting mild exercise. All you have to do is motivate yourself and perhaps some friends to get started. Or if you&#8217;re a loner, you can take up an individualized sport such as bicycle touring, which can also be done in small groups, or laps swimming at your community pool.</p>
<p>And if you like to be around a humungous amount of people, how about mall-walking, one of the latest in adult and family mild fitness trends, or the more traditional act of partner dancing, which you can do at all kinds of gathering places such as local taverns, senior centers, community halls and social clubs. There&#8217;s an almost infinite number of places you can go and groups you can join. Just pick one, and remember to start out with a breezy, fun and easygoing attitude. You&#8217;re not punishing yourself; you&#8217;re picking up on a lifelong habit of moving your body for health purposes. You&#8217;ll feel better, look fitter and maybe meet new people while you&#8217;re dropping those needless extra pounds.</p>
<p>But be realistic, and work with your doctor. You want to aim for something fun that you&#8217;ll keep committing to doing regularly. If it&#8217;s something you hate, perhaps such as running on a track, climbing stairs or using what seems to you to be boring exercise equipment, forget it! Don&#8217;t spend all your money on something you can&#8217;t keep doing because you feel guilty, or think you have to punish yourself into exercising. Be sure you like what you&#8217;re going to do before you get started. Simply walking around the block is a very inexpensive and potentially fun way to go from a sedentary state to a beginning new level of much better health and fitness. You must start with something easy and simple if you haven&#8217;t been exercising for decades, and you should gradually increase your level of activity as you feel comfortable with it. Move by inches, not by miles.</p>
<p>Are you a morning or an evening person? If you&#8217;re the former, plan to work out in the morning, and if you wake up later in the day, do your routine more near twilight. Also, as your doctor will tell you, start with a small window of time, perhaps only fifteen minutes at first, and slowly increase it every other day or so. In order to achieve a higher level of fitness and to lose weight, you must perform whatever exercise you choose at least three to four times a week. This is better at first than every day, as a rest may be needed between workouts to give your aching muscles a chance to soothe themselves and heal before you bravely saunter forth again or head back merrily to the gym.</p>
<p>Eventually, you can try exercising every single day, anywhere from twenty minutes to a full hour. But especially at first&#8211;and that may be for several months&#8211;don&#8217;t push yourself too hard. Don&#8217;t go all out, and get frustrated because you can&#8217;t keep it up. You don&#8217;t have to be a college athlete, and you can seriously hurt your heart by pushing too hard or overdoing it. Remember, you&#8217;re doing this for fun, for health reasons and to feel good about yourself. Don&#8217;t try to become an &#8220;athlete&#8221; unless you think that will be something you&#8217;ll want to commit to on a much more rigorous schedule. Later!</p>

<p>Easy Exercise Comes &#8211; Naturally</strong><br />
Americans tend to think of exercise as more their duty than as a part of their culture, or &#8220;way of life.&#8221; But it&#8217;s a true lifestyle preference. Throughout the world, many forms of regular exercise are taking hold of whole general populations. Take walking, for example. In Europe, people are flocking to their local well-developed public hiking trails, and there&#8217;s quite a few of those spread across the USA as well. Walking of a moderate type is called Volkssport in Europe, and it&#8217;s really been around for many centuries.</p>
<p>Easy-going exercise such as walking continues to stave off heart disease, osteoporosis, high cholesterol and many types of cancer, as well as taking care of most of your belly flab. It doesn&#8217;t sound like much, but it will really tighten your whole body up. Your legs will especially benefit, and your buns will automatically grow firmer as you stroll. Not to mention that the worst investment you need to make is a pair of comfy, sturdy sensible shoes, preferably made of leather or canvas with rubber soles.</p>
<p>You may think that yoga is some uncomfortable form of Eastern self-punishment and mysticism, but it&#8217;s not. Yoga is great for toning your body, as it&#8217;s extremely gentle when done correctly. It combines traditional breathing and relaxation techniques with simple stretching. It&#8217;s good to use yoga during a weight-loss program when you&#8217;re sedentary, as it&#8217;s very easy on your body, you don&#8217;t have to repeat the same exercises every day, and it requires a minimal time commitment. </p>
<p>Yoga can be used in conjunction with a more rigorous exercise program to help maintain your overall state of fitness. &#8220;Yoga doesn&#8217;t take over your life, it enhances it,&#8221; says Alice Cristensen, founder and executive director of the American Yoga Association.</p>
<p><strong>Continuing Your Program &#8211; Goals and Motivation</strong><br />
Okay, so you&#8217;ve gotten started, but what does all this have to do with watching your weight? To keep on schedule with this as your original goal, you also have to keep that commitment to lose enough poundage to be a healthy, happy and physically fit person. </p>
<p>First of all, you have to figure out exactly what you&#8217;re expecting to accomplish. Are you looking for optimal health, or do you really want to fit into slinky clothes better? Either way, you&#8217;re going to have to set goals and try to attain them as you go. It helps to clearly keep in mind what you&#8217;re aiming for, and it helps to visualize yourself at your ideal weight several times a day. This image impresses itself upon your subconscious and inwardly motivates you to continue your program with a bulldog&#8217;s sheer tenacity and motivation. You want that; whatever happens, you don&#8217;t want to stress out and quit. Try looking at old photographs of yourself at your ideal weight and picturing realistically what you&#8217;ll look like when you&#8217;re back there again. Don&#8217;t expect the Fountain of Youth, but you&#8217;d be shocked how close you can get to your mental picture, and how good you&#8217;re going to feel as you move your body, eat less liberally and become fit and not fat.</p>
<p>Also, you should make a brief list of the five major reasons you&#8217;re embarking on an exercise and weight-loss program. Do you want to bring down your blood pressure? Does being fat make you feel too old? Do you want to attract someone new in your life? When you sit in your car, does your stomach practically turn the steering wheel? Make it a point to carry this list with you wherever you go, and when you get in the mood to quit and give up, whip it out and read it aloud, saying to yourself that this is what you really want.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A trampoline is a device used by gymnasts, and is also used for recreational sport. It consists of a taut sheet made mostly of canvas that has coiled springs attached to a metal frame. The springs provide the rebounding force which propels the jumper high into the air. Trampolines are becoming very popular these days; everybody loves them! Athletes use them to enhance their motor skills and to bring refinement in their aerial moves. Skiers, skaters, divers and gymnasts &#8211; everybody uses them extensively. Kids love to spring and tumble on them, as it is a great fun filled pass time for them. Even grown ups use them for exercising.</p>

There are outdoor trampolines as well as indoor trampolines. Outdoor trampolines are more convenient as you can place them anywhere, and the kids can also play anytime they want without creating chaos in the house. It is better to get zinc coated trampolines as you can leave them outside all the year round without any worry about them getting rusted. Trampolines usually come in three basic shapes: square, round, and rectangular. They also come in different sizes and different heights; usually ten, twelve, fourteen and fifteen feet. Gymnasts prefer rectangular shaped trampolines than round shaped as they can orientate themselves better on a rectangular trampoline.</p>
<p><strong>Always buy good quality trampolines:</strong><br />
You should only buy good quality trampolines to avoid any unnecessary accidents. Make sure you check the springs, jumping mats, frame pads and frames. Always buy quality frame pads for better protection. You also should check the width, thickness and the quality of materials that have been used in making the frame pad.</p>
<p>The next thing that you must check is the jumping mat. Check if the stitches are made properly and if it is capable of withstanding the weight of an adult. Always buy a good quality jumping mat for long durability. The spring is also another part that you should check. The longer the spring is, the better the bounce would be. The frame is also an important part. It needs to be strong enough to withstand the weight of more than one person, as kids like to play in groups. The frame of a good trampoline should never bend, or bow when set up, nor should it flex when in use. It is advisable to buy your trampoline only from a trusted manufacturer and supplier.</p>
<p><strong>Tips to avoid accidents:</strong><br />
Though trampolines are fun, you should always be careful as there are risks involved. Here are some tips to keep in mind to avoid accidents:</p>
<ul>
<li>Avoid keeping outdoor trampolines indoors, as there are always risks of hitting your head on the ceiling or the light fittings. When you keep the trampoline outside keep it in an empty space free away from clotheslines, tree limbs, fences, furniture, and other objects that may cause injuries if you fall off.</li>
<li>If possible set the legs/supports of the trampoline down into the ground to reduce the distance of a fall.</li>
<li>Always wear comfortable clothing so that you are free to move, and avoid wearing really long or loose pants as there are chances that limbs may get entangled in extra folds.</li>
<li>Remove all jewelry before getting on. Do not keep any contents in your pocket. Wear only trampoline footwear &#8211; if you do not have it, go barefoot, or in socks.</li>
<li>Never attempt to do any complicated tumbling without getting proper training. If you land in an incorrect position you may get seriously injured.</li>
<li>Those learning to use a trampoline for the first time must do so under adult supervision. There should be someone to instruct them in simple maneuvers, and also who is well versed in first aid for injuries.</li>

<p>These days you can find trampolines in gyms as well. Organized clubs and gyms usually have spotters placed at each corner of the trampoline to assist and to break the fall of any athlete who loses control and falls. Having some training in a gym may be beneficial before bringing one home.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Diabetes is more prevalent than ever and 95% of cases diagnosed are type 2 diabetes.</p>
<p>Although for some the development of diabetes is inevitable, perhaps due to heriditary and other factors, for the vast majority it can be prevented by taking these 7 simple steps&#8230;</p>
<p><img src="http://savvyhealthfitness.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/diabetes1.jpg" alt="Diabetes Schematic" title="Diabetes Schematic" width="280" height="290" class="alignright size-full wp-image-430" />Before diabetes type 2 becomes fully developed you go through a stage known as pre-diabetes.  This is where you start to show some of the symptoms, which if ignored, can lead to full blown diabetes.</p>
<p>Make these 7 action points part of your daily routine and you could stop this disease happening to you:</p>
<ol>
<li>If you are overweight you risk developing diabetes.  Reduce the amount of food on your plate so you gradually eat less and start to lose weight.  Drink a glass of plain water or a sugar-free drink before your meal to take the edge of any hunger pains.</li>
<li>Reduce the amount of fat you are eating; grill or bake foods instead of frying; use low-fat spreads and reduced fat meals.</li>
<li>Check the Glycemic Index of the food you are eating &#8211; knowing what each food contains helps maintain your blood-sugars, which in turn can prevent the full onset of diabetes.</li>
<li>Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. If you keep a bottle of water with you and sip frequently you&#8217;ll be surprised how much you do drink throughout the day.</li>
<li>If you are feeling peckish choose a healthy snack rather than a chocolate bar.</li>
<li>Use skimmed rather than full-fat milk in hot drinks.</li>
<li>Exercise is good for health.  But if you are not use to exercise then start in moderation.  15 minutes gentle walking each day will ease you into a regular exercising pattern.</li>
</ol>
<p>All of these action points are also the ones that diabetics are advised to take &#8211; if you take them now you might possibly prevent irreparable damage to your health.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are two main types of exercise that you can do &#8211; aerobic and anaerobic.  The first one, aerobic, means with oxygen.  Aerobic type exercise has an important distinction, it burns fat as the main fuel.   </p>
<p>Anaerobic on the other hand, burns sugar as the main source of fuel.  Despite common myths, exercise doesn&#8217;t have to be drastic in any way to provide massive benefits.  Even if you choose light exercise, you will still burn fat. </p>
<p>Light exercise will clear out lactic acid, which is a waste of the body, and stimulate your cells to regenerate.  To be sure that you are burning fat  rather than sugar, it&#8217;s very important to make sure that you are doing several things as you exercise. </p>
<p>The most important thing you can do as you exercise is breathe deep.  You should always breathe in deep into your stomach through your nose, hold it for a few seconds and then exhale hard through your mouth. </p>
<p>Second, you should make sure that you exercise at a comfortable level.  You should exercise at a level of 7 out of 10, and still be able to carry on a normal conversation while you exercise.  You should do this for 45 minutes or so each day, then  you&#8217;ll begin to notice just how much your energy will explode. </p>
<p><q>rebounding is one of the best forms of aerobic exercise there is</q>Even if you don&#8217;t think you have the time to  exercise, rest assured that there is always time. If you have to, use the time that you would  normally spend sleeping.  With exercising, you&#8217;ll actually need less sleep than before. </p>
<p>You can also use the time of your lunch break to exercise as well.  The increase in productivity will have you more on the ball, and you can save your time through the dramatic increase in your overall productivity.   </p>
<p><span id="more-366"></span></p>
<p>Cellularise, or rebounding, is one of the best forms of aerobic exercise there is.  If you have access to a rebounder, you shouldn&#8217;t hesitate to use it.  Use any break you have at work to engage in some type of movement and deep breathing. </p>
<p>Any type of exercise you do will strongly benefit your heart.  It will make it a stronger and larger organ.  Deep breathing will help your lungs  become stronger and larger as well.  There is research now that links exercise to helping benefit and almost prevent each and every type of disease or ailment. </p>
<p>Movement of the joints will promote proper blood flow and create energy, as sitting down all day will rob your body of much needed energy.  If you  sit down all day, it&#8217;s very important that you promote blood flow, circulation, energy, brain flow, and the strength of your heart.  With just a little bit of your time devoted to exercise, you&#8217;ll find yourself healthier than you have ever been in the past.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am sure that most people realise that there are many benefits of exercising on a regular basis, most of these people however still choose not do so. This article gives information on how our health can benefit from this exercise which hopefully will encourage more people to start.</p>
<p><img src="http://savvyhealthfitness.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/brisk-walk-300x215.jpg" alt="A brisk walk with friends" title="A brisk walk with friends" width="300" height="215" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-30" />I am one of the many people who basically finds it hard to gain any inspiration to exercise. I have over the past couple of years started a fitness routine and have not only enjoyed it(to my surprise) but have never felt so healthy.</p>
<p>It is a strange situation, the thought of starting the exercise is like a choir, but afterwards I feel brilliant. Despite this, I then find it hard to begin to exercise again on the next day. It is weird!</p>
<p>The benefits of exercise:</p>
<ul>
<li>Helps to lower levels of stress</li>
<li>Helps to improve posture</li>
<li>Helps people to sleep</li>
<li>Helps you to gain stronger muscles</li>
<li>Increases heart and lung efficiency</li>
<li>Lowers the risk of heart disease and lung disease</li>
<li>Helps overall circulation</li>
<li>Helps to reduce blood pressure</li>
<li>Helps people to lose weight</li>
<li>Helps to reduce depression</li>
<li>Helps to reduce cholesterol levels</li>
<li>Helps to reduce symptoms of arthritis</li>
</ul>
<p>As you can see in the above the list, there are many reasons as to why people should start to exercise. These are only a few out of many health benefits I could mention.</p>
<p>On a personal front, I have found that by exercising on most days, helps me to manage my stress levels. I am by nature a person who is quite anxious and even paranoid, exercising helps me to manage this negative part of my brain and helps me to see things in a much clearer way.</p>

<p>[relatedposts]I am also somebody who basically loves food. This exercise is a great way of keeping my weight down, a form of diet which lets me eat exactly what I want.</p>
<p>Depression has been a regular feature of my life, however since starting my fitness regime, I do not think I have been depressed once.</p>
<p>Even though the thought of this exercise does not exactly fill me with joy, I will continue to force myself to do it as the benefits are huge.</p>
<p>I would strongly advise other people to also start exercising. I hope that they find it as rewarding and beneficial as I have.</p>
