Better than saw palmetto is the nutrient, beta sitosterol. Beta sitosterol is a natural phytosterol found in plants. It has been studied extensively for its role in supporting prostate health, urinary flow and functions. Beta sitosterol is definitely more powerful than saw palmetto and much scientific data is found on the Internet to substantiate this. You would need to take about 300 mg of pure beta sitosterol a day for it to have a beneficial impact on prostate health. Take a quality prostate supplement like Super Beta Prostate which contains 300 mg of pure beta sitosterol along with essential minerals and Vitamin D – nutrients that support a healthy prostate.

Including fatty fish regularly in your diet is a natural way to regulate normal cholesterol levels. In fact, patients who suffer from high cholesterol are usually prescribed fish oil supplements to supplement their diet. Fish oil contains omega 3 fatty acids – these are the good fats that help the body in a number of ways, specifically supporting heart health. They protect the cardiovascular system, promote arterial health and boost the immune system. It’s important to take a fish oil supplement which is high quality – pharmaceutical grade fish oil are the best since they have high potency of EPA and DHA, as well as the highest purity level. For a natural way to support normal cholesterol levels, try a quality supplement like Triple Strength Omega 3.

Dear Dick Aronson,
an obviously well meaning article. I am surprised though to read what you produced in view of your 35 years background in the healthcare industry. Also find it incredible that after you set up clinical trials in 20 countries your research angle and depth is what it is.

The article is a mixture of facts and myths. The first sentence is already an error: cholesterol is not a fat. It is an alcohol. Check it out.

The 3rd paragraph contain the error: that too much cholesterol circulating is the reason of being deposited. Check out strokes and heart attacks occurring with (arbitrarily set and now urged to lower it further) perfect scores of cholesterol. Ignored or ignorant of recent findings that inflammation and not cholesterol what sets in motion the cascade of events ending in atherosclerosis. In fact prior to this any of the varied substances injuring the lumen that provoke this sub-clinical inflammation becoming chronic are the triggers. In the absence of this inflammation and oxidising cholesterol there is no issue. What about 70 and older men with high cholesterol and otherwise healthy outlive their counterpart by many years who have again perfect scores? These are documented facts. How could you miss them?

Paragraph 8: you mentioned the lipid hypothesis. This is discredited by now. Lets separate evidence from aggressive propaganda big pharma put out.

The rest of the article is a mix of some lightweight, non harmful stuff and questionable content.

I wish to draw to your attention the website a good spot to start updating:

Excellent tips, just goes to show how many different things need to be included in a weight loss program, not to mention making sure that you actually follow your plan and keep with the program. Not everything is suitable for the same person and you have to find a balance that works otherwise the whole weight loss attempt falls flat on it's you know what!
